What do you need to obtain an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)?
A total of 30 credits that includes 18 compulsory credits and 12 optional credits:
o 4 credits in English (1 credit per grade);
o 3 credits in Mathematics (1 credit in Grade 11 or 12);
o 2 credits in Science;
o 1 credit in Canadian History;
o 1 credit in Canadian Geography;
o 1 credit in the Arts;
o 1 credit in Health and Physical Education;
o 1 credit in French as a Second Language;
o 0.5 credit in Career Studies;
o 0.5 credit in Civics;
o 3 credits from the following groups (1 credit from each group):
Group 1:additional credit in English, French as a Second Language, A Native Language, Classical or International Language, Social Sciences and the Humanities, Canadian and World Studies, Guidance and Career Education, or Cooperative Education;
Group 2:additional credit in Health and Physical Education, the Arts, Business Studies, French as a Second Language, or Cooperative Education;
Group 3:additional credit in Science (Grade 11 or 12), Technological Education, or French as a Second Language, Computer Studies, or Cooperative Education.
12 Optional Credits:All credit courses offered by the school can be counted toward to the optional credits.

•The Provincial Literacy Requirement: Student in Ontario must pass the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) to graduate with an OSSD. Alternatively, students can also take the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course (OLC4O) from the school should the student fail the OSSLT.
When can I apply?
Students can apply for our school program at anytime during the year. However, the ideal time for overseas students to apply is during their second year in high school so that they can have enough time to obtain a visa for their last year of study in Canada. Most of the Canadian Universities require a minimum of 6 credit courses at university level (U/M) plus an acceptable English Testing score.
Do I need TOEFL or IELTS score?
TOEFL and IELTS are recommended, but not required for high school admission. Mississauga Secondary Academy offers all the compulsory English courses as well as ESL (5 levels), TOEFL and IELTS preparation courses. We also have tutors that will assist you if you need extra help with your English.
How do I pay my fees?
Fees may be paid by cash, credit card (VISA or Master Card only), or a bank draft payable Mississauga Secondary Academy, or a wire transfer. The following details are provided for your wire transfer.

Can I pay in U.S. dollars?
Yes! You can send payment in US Dollars by a bank draft or a wire transfer. Your payment will be converted into Canadian Dollars when received. Make sure to send enough to cover the foreign exchange differences as you are responsible for this difference.
When do I receive the Letter of Acceptance?
We will evaluate your application as soon as we receive your completed application package and supporting documents. It normally takes a week for us to complete the assessment and issue you the letter of acceptance provided you have met all requirements AND there is a vacancy in the program you are applying for.
How much are tuition fees and what do they include?
Tuitions fees and other fees may vary depends on the program you are applying for and may change from time to time. Please refer to the school’s Fee Schedule on our website.
Does your school help me apply to a university?
Yes! The well trained and experienced staff in the Guidance Office of the school will help you plan your university application.
